World Hemophilia Day is an international awareness day for hemophilia and other bleeding disorders. It is held annually on April 17th. Since 1989, World Hemophilia Day is the day the whole bleeding disorders community comes together to celebrate the continuous advances in treatment while raising awareness and bringing understanding and attention to the issues related to proper care to the wider public.
Pennsylvania’s skyline turned a vibrant red to commemorate #WorldHemophiliaDay2024! Landmarks across Philadelphia, including the Cira Centre, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Symphony House Condos, One Liberty Place, and Lincoln Financial Field, illuminated the night in support. Pittsburgh joined the cause with iconic buildings like the Koppers Building, Gulf Tower, Fifth Avenue Place Spire, Heinz Hall Garden Place Waterfall, Homestead Grays Bridge, and One Oxford Center all aglow. Even in Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Capitol, Market Street Bridge, and Walnut Bridge lit up in solidarity. These stunning displays symbolize our unity and support for those affected by inherited bleeding disorders. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated! #WHD2024
